James Slazas

Director, ConsenSys Capital

James leads JSGA, a family office investment and social impact fund, as well as a director of ConsenSys Capital, with over 30 years of experience in the financial industry. Starting at Lehman Brothers, James managed a proprietary arbitrage book of derivatives, market making OTC equities/warrants/options, designed structured products and created a global risk management group for the Private Client division, focused on the credit exposures of Lehman’s London, Hong Kong and Swiss banks.

Later, James co-founded September Investors, a hedge fund investing in longevity risk through life settlements and premium financing. Leveraging off of ConsenSys’ global thought leadership and broad technical blockchain IP, James provides traditional investment vehicles to institutional investors seeking exposure to digital assets. James advises a broad spectrum of financial institutions including investment banks, regulatory agencies, exchanges, pension funds, (re)insurance companies, and hedge funds on blockchain strategy.

He graduated from the University of Richmond, E. Claiborne School of Business and studied at Oxford University, Hertford College.
