Blockchain Unbound

BLOCKCHAIN. CRYPTO. ICOs. PUERTO RICO.

From Digital Payments to Advanced Digital Security

Connecting Puerto Rico with visionary entrepreneurs and investors in the blockchain, cryptocurrency and ICO verticals.

The first event of its kind in Puerto Rico, Blockchain Unbound is an international conference connecting the island with more than 500 visionary entrepreneurs and investors in the blockchain, cryptocurrency and ICO verticals. The three-day event will focus on how digital ledger technology can transform the Puerto Rican economy, accelerating recovery after the devastating hurricanes Irma and Maria. Blockchain Unbound will also highlight how blockchain influences social impact for the greater good.

More than 45 world-renowned thought leaders will discuss emerging trends and key topics including profitable trading strategies, new blockchain and crypto technologies, regulatory issues, and coin offering strategies. Leading CEOs from 10 highly anticipated initial coin offerings will also present and participate in one-on-one meetings with attendees.

The event kicks off the evening of Wednesday, March 14, with an opening cocktail reception at La Concha Resort in Condado. The conference begins on Thursday morning at the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel, with more than 30 panels and presentations over the next two days. In addition to engaging content sessions, attendees will also enjoy wellness activities, mindfulness programming, gourmet meals and live musical performances to connect and inspire the community.

Blockchain Unbound is a nonprofit event. All proceeds from the conference will be donated to charitable causes working to rebuild Puerto Rico following hurricanes Irma and Maria. Conference participants are also invited to spend part of Saturday, March 17, working with our local non-profit partners on relief efforts for the some of the island’s most impacted areas.

Q: Do I need my passport?

If you are a U.S. citizen, you do not need your passport to enter Puerto Rico. You only need your state-issued photo ID, like a driver’s license. If you are a U.S. resident with foreign passport, bring your passport with a valid U.S. visa or your residence card or naturalization certificate.

Q: What should I pack?

The weather in Puerto Rico is warm year round, averaging 80 °F (27 °C).

Packing recommendations:

  • Yoga and activewear if you plan to participate in recreation and wellness activities.
  • A bathing suit if you plan to enjoy the beach, surf or pool.
  • Day wear: comfortable and casual. You will be immersed in talks, discussions and engaging conversations. We always recommend bringing layers for air-conditioned conference rooms.
  • Evening wear: clothes you would typically wear to dinner or drinks with friends.
  • If you plan on joining any ATV jungle excursions or the volunteer portion on Saturday, bring clothes that can get dirty and closed toe shoes.
  • Other: valid ID and credit card for check in and deposit, sunscreen, sunglasses, all necessary medications.

Q: What does my registration include?

Ticket prices vary, but each ticket is all-inclusive and grants access to all conference activities and programming, including music, health and wellness activities, and social events.

Q: When should I arrive?

We recommend arriving on Wednesday, March 14, to pre-register and pick up your conference credentials at the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel.  Our welcome party with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be held next door at La Concha Resort from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

Q: How should I get from the airport to my hotel? And what about getting around San Juan?

You can easily catch a taxi at the airport if you did not prearrange transportation through your hotel. Uber is available in Puerto Rico, but drivers are not permitted to pick up from the airport. They are also not allowed to pick up passengers directly from the hotels, but you can meet your driver on the street in front of the hotel. There are plenty of white taxi turísticos at every hotel and at designated taxi stands. You can also hail metered taxis from the street.

Rental cars are available at the airport, but are only recommended if you are exploring the island outside of San Juan.

Q: Where do I check in for the conference?

Conference registration is located on the first floor of the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel beginning on Wednesday afternoon.

Q: When does the conference officially start?

The conference begins Thursday, March 15, at 9:00 a.m. at the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel. Thursday and Friday will feature more than 30 presentations and workshops, with mindfulness and wellness programming throughout. The conference concludes Friday, March 16, with a sunset cocktail hour and surprise musical guest, followed by a closing party.

Q: What about the weekend?

We encourage conference attendees to stay the weekend and experience Puerto Rico. Participants are invited to spend part of Saturday, March 17, working with our local non-profit partners to visit the hardest hit areas of Puerto Rico and deliver aid to those who need it most. Our beneficiaries are El Hogar El Pequeño Joshua, The Priester Foundation, Off Grid Relief, and World Central Kitchen by José Andrés. Please email impact@blockchainind.com for service trip options. Transportation will be provided.

We will have more social events throughout the weekend to encourage connection with our community.

Q: What is the cancellation/substitution policy?

Unfortunately, due to the logistics and timing involved for Blockchain Unbound, event tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable to another participant.
